Men’s
Tournament Rules
Abuse of Official will not be tolerated and flagrant violations may result
in team disqualification. The abuse of alcohol or other substances is unequivocally
discouraged by the organizers. Teams and individuals that are abusive, destructive,
or in any other manner reflect negatively on the tournament will be disqualified
at the discretion of the tournament organizers and prohibited from returning
in the future.
The tournament will use NCAA rules with the following exceptions:
- There
will be no 10 second count in the defensive or offensive field
area;
- There
will be no 2 minute stalling rule in the fourth period;
- All
substitution will be on the fly other than when a goal is scored
or a served time penalty is assessed;
- All
substitutions must go through the designated substitution box;
- No team
will be allowed more than five (5) long sticks on the field
at any time;
- All
players will be expected the have appropriate equipment including
sticks, helmets, chin straps, mouthpieces, satisfactory gloves
(palms may be cut out but fingers must be covered;
- Each
team will be permitted one (1) minute time-out per half and
none during the sudden death period;
- Games
will consist of Two Twenty Five (25) minutes running halves;
penalty time will be 45 seconds for Technical Fouls and 90
Seconds for Personal fouls. Teams will be allowed one (1) time
out per half lasting one minute. There will be a break for
half time lasting five (5) minutes. The clock will stop on
time outs;
- Sudden
death over time will follow the completion of a tied game after
a two (2) minute break, sudden death will be four (4) minutes
of running time; goals defended will remain the same for the
first sudden death; goals will be exchanged after each sudden
death period thereafter and the ball will be put in play at
the relative area of the field by the team which had possession
of the ball at the end of the period; if no possession, a face-off
will take place;
- Teams
will be assessed a delay of game penalty if not ready to begin
at the scheduled time; teams are responsible to be ready to
play at the scheduled time for each game; games may be shorten
at the discretion of the organizers to keep game times on schedule;
- Each
player is required to wear the issued uniform of its team;
- Play
will be started as soon as a player on the team awarded the
ball has the ball in his possession; this will be expected
when a goalie has pursued a shot to the end line or side line
in which case the goalie will be given five (5) seconds to
return to the crease; if the team awarded the ball is not ready
to play immediately, the ball will be places on the ground
no closer then six feet from an end line or side line and the
whistle sounded to start play;
- The
alternate possession will be used;
- Blood/Bleeding
situations will follow NCAA guidelines.

Women’s Tournament Rules
Abuse of

on the tournament will be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament
organizers and prohibited from returning in the future.
UPDATE: It is now MANDATORY that all women playing Lacrosse MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE GOGGLES…"US Lacrosse Women's Division Board of Governors mandates the use of protective eyewear beginning 2005".
In addition: All umpires for the women's game are US Lacrosse rated, & will not ref any game in which protective eyewear is not worn.
The Women’s Division will follow the US Lacrosse rules with the following
exceptions:
- Games will
consist of two (2) 20 minute running halves with no stopped clock;
- There will
be a break for half time lasting five (5) minutes;
- Final will
consist of two (2) twenty minute halves, stopped clock after
goals and in the last two minutes of each half;
- Following
the completion of a tied game after a two-minute break, there
will be one (1) three minute sudden victory overtime; US Lacrosse
regulation overtime will be followed in the final game.
